Enyimba, Kwara United, and Plateau United secured home victories in today’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) fixtures, while defending champions Enugu Rangers were held to a draw by Akwa United.
Nine-time NPFL champions Enyimba moved up to eighth place in the standings after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over El Kanemi Warriors. Joseph Atule’s decisive strike in the 29th minute sealed the win, marking his fourth goal of the season. Atule also played the hero role last weekend, scoring the winner against Niger Tornadoes.
Plateau United edged Abia Warriors with a narrow 1-0 win, while Kwara United dominated Kano Pillars with a solid 2-0 victory.
Defending champions Enugu Rangers faced a tough challenge at home, coming from behind to secure a 1-1 draw against Akwa United. CHAN Eagles star Isaac Saviour converted a penalty in the 48th minute to rescue a point for ‘The Flying Antelopes’ after they conceded an early goal.
Elsewhere, Sunshine Stars’ midfielder Ahmadu Liman continued his fine form, scoring his fifth goal of the season to draw his team level before halftime in their match against Nasarawa United.
