President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday held a closed-door meeting with former President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, amid growing attention to political developments across West Africa.

Although official details of the high-level talks were not disclosed, the meeting is widely viewed as part of ongoing consultations on regional governance and stability.

Jonathan, who has remained a prominent figure in diplomatic circles, continues to play an active role in election observation and conflict resolution efforts within the sub-region. His engagements have positioned him as a key statesman in West African political affairs.

Observers note that the meeting underscores the importance of sustained dialogue among Nigeria’s political leaders, particularly at a time when several countries in the region are navigating complex political transitions.

The Presidency has yet to issue a formal statement on the outcome of the discussions.
