The Akwa Ibom State Government has outlined major achievements and policy actions recorded in November 2025, reaffirming its commitment to the successful implementation of Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda.
Speaking during the Monthly Press Briefing on Monday, December 1, the Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Umanah, said the platform remains vital for keeping journalists and the public updated on government interventions across sectors. He announced that the Governor has approved payment of the 13th-month bonus, known as Enomber, to all public servants.
A significant highlight for the month was the commissioning of the fully equipped General Hospital at Ikot Akpankuk, Ukanafun the first functional hospital in the area since 1976. The project includes a 2.2-kilometre access and internal road network and complementary infrastructure. To strengthen healthcare delivery, the State also re-engaged retired health workers to boost manpower.
The Commissioner reported further progress on infrastructure and tourism development, including the commencement of construction of the CNG Bus Station and the Oron Maritime Infrastructure. He also cited ongoing transparency reforms, human capital development initiatives, a review of the Aviation Village Project, and the upgrade of AKBC broadcast facilities.
In the housing and oil sectors, Akwa Ibom deepened collaborations with stakeholders. Activities included the groundbreaking for the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Housing Estate at Ekpene Ukim and participation in the Sail Away Ceremony of the EMEM FPSO operated by Oriental Energy Resources.
Governor Eno intensified his human capital development drive by engaging all 783 political appointees in an unprecedented interactive session focused on loyalty, unity, equitable access to government programmes, and stronger grassroots engagement. He also inspected projects in Nsit Ubium and Eket LGAs among them the remodeled Cottage Hospital, the Model Primary School, and the Nsit Ubium–Eket Road directing contractors to utilise the dry season to fast-track delivery.
