The Esit Eket Local Government Council, led by its Chairman, Hon. Mrs. Uduak Ikemesit Ikot, has extended condolences to the Vice Chairman, Hon. Elder Eddy Etangkanga, over the passing of his wife, Late Mrs. Lucy Eddy Etangkanga.
The condolence visit, held at the Vice Chairman’s residence, was initiated by the Council Chairman, who expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. In her remarks, Hon. Mrs. Ikot described the late Mrs. Lucy as a peaceful and exemplary woman whose life serves as a beacon of inspiration. She expressed confidence that the deceased is resting in the bosom of the Almighty, having lived a righteous life.
The Council Secretary, Comrade Godwin Elijah, emphasized the importance of the visit as a Biblical duty to console those in mourning. He noted that Christians are encouraged not to grieve like those without hope.
In his response, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Elder Eddy Etangkanga, expressed gratitude to the Chairman and the council for their support during this challenging time. “My wife has gone to be with the Lord, and as a family, we remain strong. My Chairman, you are a blessing to me and Esit Eket at large. I thank God for sending you to us,” he said.
A special intercessory prayer was offered for the Vice Chairman’s family, seeking divine protection and strength as they plan the funeral rites.
The condolence visit was attended by key officials and stakeholders, including the Leader of Council, Hon. Ndifreke Etieket; Deputy Leader, Hon. Michael Alfred; Head of Service, Elder Udo Edemeka; Former Leader of Council, Hon. Brighten Maxwell; Directors of Ministries and Departments; Councillors; Personal Assistants to the Governor; and other local government stakeholders.
The Esit Eket community continues to rally around the Vice Chairman’s family, offering prayers and support in this period of grief.
