The Commissioner for Power in Akwa Ibom State, Rt. Hon. Iniobong Robson, has inspected the 2 × 3.5MVA, 33/0.415KV point load injection substation at the Ibom Specialist Hospital. The inspection, which took place on March 12, 2025, was carried out alongside the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Friday Ido, and the Director of Power, Engr. Usuyak Johnson.

The visit underscores the state government’s commitment to ensuring a steady power supply, particularly to critical infrastructure such as the Ibom Specialist Hospital. The project aligns with Governor Pastor Umo Eno’s ARISE AGENDA, which prioritizes improved healthcare and power infrastructure in Akwa Ibom.

By bolstering the hospital’s energy supply, the substation is expected to enhance medical service delivery, ensuring uninterrupted power for life-saving equipment and operations. Injection substations like this play a crucial role in stabilizing electricity distribution, making power transmission more efficient across long distances.
