Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Sports, Elder Paul Bassey, has revalidated his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and reaffirmed his loyalty to Governor Umo Eno’s Arise Agenda, urging party members to unite for the progress of the state.
Bassey made the call in Eket on Saturday after revalidating his membership at Urban Ward 2, during an event held at the Holy Child Primary School, Idua.
Addressing party faithful, the Commissioner emphasized the need for unity and collaboration among ward officers and members to strengthen the APC and drive the developmental vision of Governor Eno.
“Akwa Ibom State under the leadership of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, PhD, is running a unity government. We have no choice but to follow our leader and support the state’s development, economic growth, and progress,” Bassey declared.
He also inaugurated the newly established ward office of the APC in Urban Ward 2, pledging to fully furnish it and transform it into a functional party hub. According to him, the ongoing revalidation exercise is vital to consolidating the strength of true party members.
Extending a hand of fellowship across party lines, Bassey urged members of other political parties to join forces with Governor Eno in building a stronger Akwa Ibom.
“The structure of our party, from the state to the ward level, is designed to engage officers and members meaningfully and to mobilize them effectively for elections. We in Eket Urban Ward 2 will continue to sensitize our members and grow the party by promoting good governance,” he noted.
The highlight of the ceremony was the official presentation of Bassey’s APC membership card by the Ward Chairman, Hon. Bassey Peter.
Other prominent stakeholders who revalidated their membership at the event included former House of Assembly member, Hon. David Lawrence; former Government House Permanent Secretary, Pastor Umo Bassey; Personal Assistant to the Governor on Media, Hon. Mfon Bassey; Ward Councilor, Hon. Johnson Johnson; Council Supervisor, Mr. Emmanuel Otu; Women Leader, Obongawan Lucy Akwa; Youth Leader, Mr. Godwin Mbang, alongside other ward officers and grassroots members.
