LET US REFLECT:
You don’t have to fix the past to begin a new future with God.
Isaiah 43:19 (ESV)
“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
As we step into August 2025, we are reminded of a profound truth: you don’t need to repair everything in your past before God begins something new in you. His mercy is fresh every morning, and His grace can still create rivers in the desert.
This month is not just another turn of the calendar, it is a divine invitation to a fresh start. If you’re carrying pain, guilt, or regrets, it’s time to drop the load and begin again, right where you are.
Lamentations 3:22–23, “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed… His mercies are new every morning.”
Philippians 3:13, “Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead…”
THE MESSAGE:
Dear believers in Christ Jesus, many people believe they must fix their past before God can use them. But that is not how grace operates. Grace does not demand perfection; it requires surrender. God transforms brokenness into beauty, not by retracing our mistakes, but by charting a new course for us.
August, the eighth month, symbolizes new beginnings in biblical numerology. This is not the time to drag yesterday into today. It is the season to embrace the truth that you can start from here, because God is already ahead of you.
1. Release the past regret, shame, and even pride.
2. Step forward in faith, trusting God’s power to start something new in your life.
Peter denied Jesus three times and was crushed by guilt (Luke 22:61–62). Yet, Jesus did not ask him to “fix the past.” Instead, He restored Peter in love (John 21:15–17). That restoration marked the beginning of Peter’s powerful ministry. Grace gave him a new beginning and the same grace is available to you today.
Regret looks back. Faith looks forward.
