Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ukanafun Local Government Area have passed a vote of confidence on Governor Umo Bassey Eno and endorsed the re-election bids of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The decision was reached on Saturday, August 2, 2025, during a crucial meeting of party leaders and stakeholders at the Council Secretariat, Ikot Akpa Nkuk, presided over by the Chapter Chairman, Mr. Akaninyene Ukpanah.
The session was attended by the member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem; the member representing Ukanafun State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom House of Assembly, Hon. (Elder) Emem Udom; and the Chairman of Ukanafun Local Government Council, Hon. Uyo Ukpanah, among other party faithful from across the wards.
In the 11-point communiqué, the stakeholders unanimously:
Passed a vote of confidence on Governor Umo Eno for his impactful governance and developmental strides across Akwa Ibom State.
Adopted the governor’s “Unity” mantra as a guiding principle for political cooperation in Ukanafun.
Expressed appreciation for his interventions in healthcare, education, infrastructure, and livelihood improvement.
Endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to seek a second term in 2027.
Threw their weight behind Senate President Godswill Akpabio for re-election in Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District.
Backed Gov. Umo Eno to continue in office till 2031.
Commended Rep. Unyime Idem and Hon. Emem Udom for their effective representation.
Applauded Hon. Uyo Ukpanah for massive infrastructural development in Ukanafun within 10 months in office.
Adopted the leadership structure whereby Local Government Council Chairmen hold forth as interim party leaders until substantive leaders are chosen.
The communiqué, moved by Rep. Unyime Idem and seconded by Hon. Emem Udom, was unanimously adopted by stakeholders, who pledged to work as a united front in supporting APC candidates at all levels.
