The Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Information has embarked on a strategic rebranding of its media platforms to enhance public engagement and improve visibility.

Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Umanah, announced the transformation on Monday during a meeting with the editorial team of the Ministry’s radio program, Akwa Ibom Update.

As part of the rebranding, the radio program formerly known as Update Akwa Ibom will now be called ARISE Update On Radio. The Ministry’s quarterly Impact Magazine has been renamed ARISE IMPACT, while the weekly bulletin will now be known as ARISE News Online.

Umanah emphasized that the rebranding aligns with Governor Umo Eno’s governance blueprint, ensuring that the Ministry’s communication strategy reflects the administration’s development goals.

In a move to strengthen digital engagement, Umanah also announced that Governor Eno has approved the establishment of a Social Media Directorate within the Ministry. This new unit will enhance the dissemination of government programs and projects through various digital platforms.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Akparawa James Edet, provided insights into the team’s operations and challenges. He assured the commissioner of the staff’s commitment to delivering on their mandate effectively.
