Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has described the forthcoming visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the state as a significant milestone that will attract more blessings, development opportunities and federal attention to Akwa Ibom.
The Governor, who spoke with Government House Correspondents shortly after inspecting projects lined up for presidential commissioning, disclosed that the President would inaugurate several landmark projects, including the International Terminal Building at Victor Attah International Airport, Aviation Village, Airport Hospital, ARISE Palm Resort, the 14.5-kilometre Nsit Atai–Okobo Road, also known as Airport–Okopedi Road, Ring Road 3 and the Command and Control Centre, among others.
Governor Eno also disclosed that the presidential visit would feature a mega rally in support of President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, reaffirming the state’s commitment to supporting the President’s administration.
Commending President Tinubu for making resources available to subnational governments, the Governor said his administration had leveraged available opportunities to expand the frontiers of development in Akwa Ibom State. He assured that the state would continue to support the President and mobilise political support for his re-election ambition.
In a move to ensure massive participation in the presidential reception, Governor Eno declared Friday, November 6, 2026, a work-free day across the state, particularly to enable civil servants and other residents to participate in welcoming the President.
He urged Akwa Ibom people to demonstrate their renowned hospitality by turning out in large numbers to receive the nation’s number one citizen.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Akwa Ibom State, and the distinguished Senate President, our leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, we urge all Akwa Ibomites to come out en masse to give the President an overwhelming reception.
“Akwa Ibom loves this President, and we want to show him that we are standing by him. On his mandate we stand,” the Governor declared.
The inspection tour was attended by Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi; Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Aniefiok Johnson; members of the State Executive Council and other top government officials.
