Uyo, Wonder Life Mental Health Rehabilitation and Research Centre, a leading mental health facility in Akwa Ibom State, has launched an appeal for public and private support for its 2025 initiative to evacuate mentally challenged persons from the streets of Uyo.
The center, located in Ikot Afanga, Oruk Anam Local Government Area, has been providing rehabilitation and care for individuals with mental health challenges since its establishment in 1996. The 2025 initiative seeks to offer proper care, rehabilitation, and reintegration into society for those suffering from mental health issues and currently living on the streets.

The organization is calling on the government, churches, private and public organizations, and compassionate individuals to join hands in this transformative mission. Support can be in the form of donations, partnerships, or helping to spread awareness about the project.

“This is an opportunity to restore dignity, hope, and healing to individuals who have been marginalized and left without care. Together, we can make a real difference in their lives,” the center emphasized.
