The Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Football Association (FA), Mr. Samuel Umoh, led an inspection tour of the KMK Foundation Football Academy camp in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital. The visit aimed to assess the facilities and encourage the academy’s players and management team.
Accompanied by FA board members and football stakeholders, Mr. Umoh commended the management of KMK Foundation for establishing the academy, which he described as a significant boost to grassroots football development in the state. He expressed optimism that the academy would contribute to the discovery and grooming of young talents for both state and national teams.
“This is indeed a welcome development,” Mr. Umoh stated. “It will help discover young football talents in Akwa Ibom State. I urge the academy’s management to uphold the principles of football administration to ensure they remain a formidable force in football development.”
The FA Chairman further encouraged the players to view the academy as a platform for advancing their careers, emphasizing that discipline, commitment, and determination were essential for success.
Responding on behalf of KMK Foundation, Mr. Daniel Eyakenyin, a member of the academy’s board, thanked the FA for the visit and pledged the foundation’s commitment to partnering with the association to achieve its objectives. He assured the players of maximum support and encouraged them to remain focused.

The Director of KMK, Mr. Kingsley Morrison Ekpenyong, who conducted the FA team around the camp, highlighted that the academy was founded with the goal of nurturing young football stars in Akwa Ibom. “Everything is in place for this academy to stand out,” he said.
Saviour Okon, the captain of the academy, expressed gratitude to the FA for their support and promised that the players would be good ambassadors of KMK.
Additionally, Comrade John Ekpenyong of the Grassroots Sports Federation (GRASSOF) lauded the initiative, expressing confidence that KMK would compete favorably with other teams in the state and produce top-quality players in the future.
The KMK Foundation Football Academy boasts modern facilities, including apartments for players and officials, a medical department, a conference room, a media lounge, and a laundry unit, among others.
As a gesture of appreciation, a souvenir jersey of the academy was presented to the FA Chairman and other dignitaries.
