Former Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, has reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), dismissing speculations that he may defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking during activities marking his 60th birthday celebration, the former governor declared that he remains committed to the PDP despite mounting pressure from political stakeholders urging him to switch allegiance.
Emmanuel stated that his political principles and commitment to the ideals of the PDP have not changed, stressing that he has no intention of abandoning the party.
He expressed appreciation to family members, friends, political associates, and supporters who joined him in celebrating the milestone, while urging them to remain focused on promoting peace, unity, and sustainable development.
His declaration is expected to strengthen the morale of PDP supporters in Akwa Ibom State amid ongoing political realignments ahead of future elections.
The former governor’s reaffirmation of loyalty also puts to rest widespread rumours of a possible defection, as he maintained that his political future remains firmly rooted in the PDP.
