Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has reaffirmed his loyalty and respect for his predecessor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel, dismissing speculations of any rift between them as unfounded and misleading.
Speaking during a recent event, Governor Eno publicly addressed the swirling rumours, stating emphatically: “Ok with my political father, you got it wrong. I have no problem with Deacon Udom Emmanuel. He remains my political father.”
He disclosed that he had recently visited the former governor at his Lagos residence where they shared quality time together, underscoring the cordiality that still exists between them.
Governor Eno called on the people of Akwa Ibom to reject divisive narratives and resist attempts to destabilize the state. “Our young people must understand that leadership is not easy. Let’s maintain the peace in our state and continue to drive the progress we are witnessing,” he urged.
“This is the only state we have, and we must not allow outsiders to destroy it. We must protect it at all costs,” the governor emphasized, reiterating the vital link between peace and development.
He also commended clerics for their unwavering spiritual support, specifically lauding Prelate Isaiah Isong, Founder of Believers Assembly Evangelical Church, for his continuous prayers and encouragement, especially during the politically sensitive period of the 2023 elections.
In the same vein, Apostle Lawrence Achudeme, Founder of Victory Life Bible Church, admonished Christians to focus on self-development and spiritual growth rather than engaging in divisive conduct or character assassination.
Governor Eno concluded by appealing to citizens to remain united, uphold peace, and work together in safeguarding the gains of democracy and development in Akwa Ibom State.
