Senator Ekong Sampson, representing Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, on Thursday attended the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Uyo Branch Week celebration held at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the NBA Secretariat on Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo.
The event attracted members of the legal profession, judicial officers, public office holders, and other distinguished guests who gathered to celebrate the achievements of the Uyo Branch and reflect on contemporary issues affecting the legal profession and the administration of justice in Nigeria.
Senator Sampson, a distinguished legal practitioner, was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1991 and has since built an impressive career in law, public service, and legal scholarship. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Law and is widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most respected legal biographers and authors.
Over the years, he has made significant contributions to legal literature through a number of acclaimed publications, including Law and Statesmanship:
The Legacy of Sir Udo Udoma, The Path of Justice Chike Idigbe, and Evergreen Memories of Sir Louis Mbanefo, among other notable works that have earned widespread recognition within legal and academic circles.
His presence at the NBA Uyo Branch Week was warmly received by members of the Bar, who acknowledged his contributions to the legal profession, jurisprudence, and national development.
The annual NBA Branch Week provides a platform for legal practitioners to engage in professional development, strengthen fellowship among members, and deliberate on issues aimed at enhancing the rule of law and justice delivery in the country.
