Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, on Thursday received the Inspector General of Police, Tunji Rilwan Disu, on a courtesy visit at the Government House.
The visit coincided with the Inspector General’s presence in the state for the passing-out ceremony of newly trained police constables who recently completed a firearms handling programme.

Governor Eno welcomed the police chief and commended the Nigeria Police Force for its continued efforts in strengthening security capacity through professional training and retraining of its personnel. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies in maintaining peace and order across the state

Speaking during the visit, IGP Disu noted that the training programme was designed to enhance the operational competence of officers, particularly in the safe and effective handling of firearms. He emphasized that improved training standards remain critical to modern policing and public safety.

The passing-out ceremony marks another milestone in the ongoing reforms within the police force aimed at building a more professional and responsive institution capable of addressing contemporary security challenges.

The visit further underscores the collaborative relationship between the Akwa Ibom State Government and national security agencies in promoting stability and safeguarding lives and property.
