The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved a sweeping reorganization of senior officers within the Nigeria Police Force, ordering the posting of Assistant Inspectors-General (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police (CPs) to key strategic positions across the country.
The move, announced on Tuesday, is part of ongoing efforts by the Force leadership to strengthen operational efficiency, enhance leadership capacity, and improve service delivery nationwide. The redeployment aligns with the Force’s commitment to maintaining an effective command structure through the strategic placement of personnel across Commands, Formations, and Departments.
Under the new postings, AIG Ado Emmanuel has been deployed to the Department of Research and Planning at Force Headquarters, Abuja, while AIG Joseph Eribo takes charge of the Department of Armament. AIG Miller G. Dantawaye is now heading the Department of Operations, and AIG Henry Ifeanyi Uche oversees Training and Development. AIG Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo has been assigned to Police Accounts and Budget, while AIG Dahiru Mohammed moves to Zone 15, Maiduguri.
Other notable redeployments include AIG Dankombo F. Morris to Zone 4, Makurdi; AIG Bello Shehu to Zone 14, Katsina; AIG Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba to Legal Services; AIG Ahmed Musa to Community Policing; and AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh to Zone 2, Lagos. AIG Simeon U. Akpanudom has been posted to the FCID Annex, Lagos, while AIG Haruna Olufemi assumes duty at the Special Protection Unit.
At the level of Commissioners of Police, CP Haruna Alaba Yahaya has been posted to Jigawa State Command, while CP Olugbenga Ayodeji Abimbola takes over in Oyo State. CP Yemi John Oyeniyi now heads Delta State Command, and CP Olubode Ojajuni moves to Ogun State. CP Michael Adegoroye Falade has been assigned to Ekiti State, while CP Yakubu Useni Dankaro takes charge in Adamawa State.
Further postings include CP Muhammed Sanusi Ahmed to the Federal Capital Territory Command and CP Olatunji Olaiwola Fatai to Lagos State Command. CP Morkwap S. Dongshal has been deployed to Taraba, CP Ahmed Mohammed Bello to Zamfara, CP Umar Ali Fagge to Katsina, and CP Hayatu Shaffa Hassan to Sokoto State Command.
In specialized assignments, CP Akan Ezima has been appointed Director of the NPF National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja, while CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue moves to INTERPOL. CP Moses Ashu Otta has been posted to SWAT, Abuja, and CP Mnwadiogbu Cletus assumes office as Deputy Commandant at the Police Academy.
Additional postings cut across key departments including operations, investigations, administration, and community policing, reflecting a broad-based restructuring aimed at strengthening internal security architecture.
The IGP charged the affected officers to bring their wealth of experience to bear in their new roles, urging them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and service in the discharge of their duties.
