Akwa Ibom State workers have begun receiving their 13th month salary, providing timely financial relief ahead of the Christmas celebrations.
A report from the Office of the Accountant General confirmed that payment commenced on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, across the state’s payroll.
The development fulfills the commitment earlier made by Umo Eno, who had assured workers on Sunday, November 30, 2025, that the additional salary would be paid on or before December 20.
Since assuming office in 2023, the administration of Governor Eno has sustained the payment of the 13th month salary alongside other bonuses and welfare packages for public servants. The consistent implementation of these incentives has reinforced his reputation as a worker-friendly governor in Akwa Ibom.
Public sector employees across the state have welcomed the early payment, describing it as a morale booster and a practical demonstration of the government’s commitment to workers’ welfare during a period of heightened economic pressure.
