Opobo, A remarkable scene unfolded during the #Street2Street Evangelistic Campaign in Opobo Town as a man long known to residents as Victor, also called “Monie is Good”, widely believed to be mentally unstable, experienced a life-changing encounter reminiscent of the biblical deliverance recorded in Mark 5:2–5.
As the evangelism team led by a prophet of God, Dr Moshood Fayemiwo PhD preached the gospel of Jesus Christ in the community, Victor approached them aggressively, much like the man with an unclean spirit who met Jesus “out of the tombs” in the Gospel account. However, what began as confrontation soon turned into divine transformation.
Eyewitnesses report that as prayers were lifted and the name of Jesus Christ was proclaimed, Victor suddenly became calm and began to confess Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. The once-troubled man’s demeanor changed instantly, his words became gentle and his face peaceful.
Members of the evangelistic team broke into songs of praise, declaring that the same power that delivered the man of Gadara two thousand years ago is still at work today.
“And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit…” Mark 5:2 (KJV)
Just as in the biblical story where the man was later found “clothed and in his right mind,” witnesses say Victor now speaks coherently and expresses gratitude for his new life in Christ.
The team described the moment as a living testimony of the enduring power of Jesus to set captives free, no matter how lost they may seem.
