The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has extended the grace period for enforcing the Tinted Glass Permit regulation to October 2, 2025, warning motorists and officials alike against illegal processing and extortion.

Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, approved the extension following a surge in applications through the official portal, https://possap.gov.ng, indicating rising compliance with the directive.

According to Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the move will allow thorough screening of applications to ensure permits are granted only to qualified individuals in line with national security protocols. He stressed that both digital and physical verification processes are being fine-tuned to block loopholes and prevent criminal exploitation of the system.

The NPF cautioned the public to avoid unofficial channels and to report cases of extortion, hidden charges, or unauthorized processing to the police via the hotline 09169967000.

The Force reiterated its commitment to balancing public convenience with strong security measures aimed at safeguarding lives and property across the country.
