Those who take delight in killing innocent persons have been told that the blood of their victims has voice and was crying to God for revenge.
Pastor Umoh Ekwo, general overseer of Bible Standard Church, with headquarters in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State said this while speaking to over 5000 Christian faithful at Ndon Uruan, Uruan Local Government Area, during the recently concluded 2025 Annual Convention of the ministry.
He said people who kill others by witchcraft, matcheting, poisoning, beating, strangulating or shooting with the gun, would face judgement both in this life and in the life to come.
Making a reference to Cain in the Bible (Genesis 4), Ekwo said when God accepted the offering of Abel and rejected that of Cain, Cain killed Abel his brother out of anger and jealousy.
He said thereafter, God came down and asked Cain:
“What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood is crying to me from the ground.
“And now you’re cursed from the earth, which has opened her mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.”
Ekwo said like Cain, medical personnel who kill unborn babies through abortion, assassins, cult group members, armed robbers, kidnappers, men and women who kill their spouse or lover and all that shed blood of the innocent, even when they did so in secret, would face judgement for their deeds. Blood, he said, though shed on the ground and in secret, would always cry to God.
The man of God said also that people, who are under a curse – family or whatever – those living in disobedience to the word of God, worshippers of idols and the immoral cannot enjoy God’s blessings.
In a flashback to the Bible, Ekwo said God rejected King Saul because of disobedience. God punished the prophet Eli for failing to correct his sinful sons and slew Ananias and his wife Sapphira during a service in church for telling lies.
Pastor Ekwo, who was speaking under the event’s theme of “Downpour of Blessings”, said living in sin was like going about life with the stone that covered the cave that Lazarus was laid. “Just as the stone was taken away for Lazarus to come forth, so must sin be moved out of the way for one to enjoy the blessings of God”, Ekwo said.
Some 330 persons gave their lives to Christ during the Easter event.
