The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, is set to swear in 27 newly appointed Honourable Commissioners and Special Advisers following their confirmation by the State House of Assembly.

A statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, announced that the swearing-in ceremony will take place on Monday, February 24, 2025, at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, starting at 11:00 AM. Guests are expected to be seated by 10:30 AM.

This development marks another step in Governor Eno’s commitment to strengthening governance and delivering on his administration’s agenda. The new appointees are expected to bring their expertise to bear in various ministries and advisory roles, driving policies that will enhance the socio-economic development of the state.

However, a renowned journalist, Newspaper publisher, Evangelist Solomon OKPO called on the newly appointed officials to see their positions as a call to service rather than an opportunity for personal enrichment.

He urged them to prioritize transparency, accountability, and people-centered governance in their respective offices, also emphasized the need for grassroots development in their various communities, job creation, and the efficient use of public resources to improve the lives of Akwa Ibom residents.

He advised the appointees to engage with communities, listen to the concerns of ordinary citizens, and implement policies that reflect the collective aspirations of the people.

As the new team prepares to take office, expectations remain high that they will uphold the trust placed in them and work tirelessly towards the continued progress of Akwa Ibom State.
