PDP Ward 2 Central Inaugurates Unit 016 Executives in Ekoi

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ward 2 Central has inaugurated the executive members of Unit 016, Ekoi, in a well-attended event aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilization and unity within the party.

Led by the Ward Chairman, Comr. Utibe Akpekong, the delegation was warmly received by the Unit Chairman, Miss Blessing David, alongside enthusiastic party members who turned out in large numbers.

In his address, Comr. Akpekong attributed the peaceful political atmosphere in the state to the leadership of Governor Pastor Umo Eno, PhD. He also commended the Honorable Commissioner, Mkpisong Frank Archibong, and his wife, Dr. (Mrs.) Bright Archibong, PhD, for their contributions to political stability in the ward and Eket at large. He emphasized the importance of forming unit executives, highlighting their role in promoting unity, inclusiveness, and the overall well-being of party members at the grassroots level.

Miss Blessing David urged the newly inaugurated executives to remain dedicated to their responsibilities, uphold party principles, and work in collaboration with the leadership for the progress of the unit.

Speaking at the event, Evangelist Solomon Okpo, a key stakeholder, expressed confidence in the capabilities of the newly inaugurated officials, encouraging them to foster peace and unity within the unit.

The legal adviser of the ward administered the oath of office, formally inducting the executives into their new roles.

Comr. Akpekong extended his gratitude to all attendees and acknowledged the contributions of party leaders, including the Local Government Chairman, Hon. Akaninyene Tommey; the Chapter Chairman, Hon. Uso Hanson; Elder Samuel Akpan Okon; Chief Ndueso Essien; and Elder Nse Atang.

A major highlight of the event was the unit’s unanimous endorsement of Governor Umo Bassey Eno for a second term in 2027.

Notable attendees included Mr. Charles David (Ward Secretary), Mrs. Patience Alfred (Legal Adviser), Blessing David (Ex-Officio), Mr. Sunday Nse (Ex-Officio), and Elder Iniobong Atang (PRO).

The inauguration reaffirmed the PDP’s commitment to grassroots engagement and political development in the ward.
