In a show of philanthropy and community spirit, Hon. Dr. (Mrs.) Judith Mayen Ogbara, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Female G4EP, has donated 350 back-to-school items to students and pupils across Eket Federal Constituency in honour of her father, Lord U. D. Etuk, who marked his 89th birthday on Saturday, August 23, 2025.
The donation, which took place during the birthday celebration at Okon-Eket, Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, included school bags, books, and writing materials. Initially planned for 250 beneficiaries, Dr. Ogbara later announced an additional 100 items, raising the number of students supported to 350.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Ogbara said the initiative was her way of giving back to her community while honouring her father’s legacy.
“In celebration of my father’s life and legacy, I am delighted to donate back-to-school items to 350 students and pupils across Eket Federal Constituency. I believe that every child deserves access to quality education, and I hope these donations will make a meaningful difference in their academic pursuits,” she said.
She added that her father’s values of service and integrity inspired her to make contributions that would positively impact the lives of young people in the constituency.
The event drew prominent personalities, including the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mkpisong Frank Archibong; Commissioner for Sports, Elder Paul Bassey; Executive Chairman of Eket LGA, Rt. Hon. Akan Tommey; Member representing Eket State Constituency, Dr. Nsidibe Akata; Obongiwaad Emmanuel Mbong; and Governor Umo Eno’s Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Mfon Bassey.
The Paramount Ruler of Eket, HRM Edidem E. C. D. Abia, chaired the occasion, commending Dr. Ogbara for honouring her father in a way that touched lives and supported the future of children in the constituency.
