Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has commended The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Akwa Ibom Territorial Council, for its peaceful and seamless leadership transition at the Field level.

The Governor gave the commendation during the 12th Ikot Ekpene Udo Zonal Easter Major Convention, themed “The Triumph of the Cross,” held at the church auditorium in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area.

Governor Eno, who expressed delight over the smooth change of leadership, remarked that such transitions are often fraught with challenges. He said the church’s ability to achieve a crisis-free process speaks volumes about the presence and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

“I particularly celebrate with the Church for a peaceful transition of the leadership of the church at the Field level. Thank you for making this leadership transition very simple and smooth because I know how difficult and troublesome this exercise could be,” the Governor stated.

He praised the Church Council for their unity and commitment to advancing the body of Christ, emphasizing that their actions glorify God and reflect true Christian maturity.

The convention also featured a powerful sermon delivered by Pastor Daniel Bassey Udofia, who drew his text from Matthew 27:57, under the theme “The Triumph of the Cross.” Pastor Udofia encouraged worshippers to embrace the message of the Cross, describing it as the ultimate symbol of power and transformation.

He reminded the congregation of the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ and urged all to accept Him wholeheartedly to partake in the fullness of His blessings.

The Easter celebration drew dignitaries and church faithful from various parts of the state and beyond, and was highlighted by soul-lifting choir renditions, exhortations, and a spirited praise and worship session.
