In a time when division often overshadows unity, Hon. Ubong Okon, fondly known as Legacy, has emerged as a unifying force through the successful launch of the Legacy Arise Easter Football Competition in Ward 2 Central, Eket.

The brainchild of this visionary leader, the football competition is more than just a game, it is a powerful movement towards peace, community bonding, and reconciliation. Designed to bridge gaps and heal rifts, the tournament has brought together villages and individuals once divided by differences, turning rivals into teammates and restoring a strong sense of belonging among residents.

“Legacy has done what many thought was impossible, uniting sworn enemies and fostering togetherness through the spirit of sport,” said Samuel Ettentuk, Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC). “His selfless dedication, tireless efforts, and optimistic leadership have made this groundbreaking initiative a reality.”
The Legacy Arise Easter Football Competition 2025 has become a beacon of hope and a symbol of what collective action and vision can achieve. Today’s fixtures, scheduled for 1:30 PM, 3:00 PM, and 4:00 PM, will take place at St. Paul’s Lutheran Primary School, Ikot Ibiok, Eket.

As the competition progresses, the LOC chairman , Samuel Etentuk and the community celebrate not only the players and teams but also the man whose name has become synonymous with unity and inspiration. Hon. Ubong Okon, Legacy, has truly left an indelible mark on the hearts of the people.
