UYO, As part of activities marking the maiden edition of National Police Day, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, on Friday, extended its services beyond security by conducting a free medical outreach at the Itam Flyover and donating relief items to an orphanage.
The event, led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, fsi, featured free health checkups and medication for residents, emphasizing the Command’s commitment to community welfare.
In a show of compassion, the Command also visited Divine Children Home, Atan Offot in Uyo, where officers donated foodstuffs and essential household items to the children. The officers spent time with the children, offering support and sharing moments of warmth.
Receiving the donations, the home’s caretaker, Miss Emenebong Okokon, expressed deep appreciation to the Police Command. She commended CP Azare for his thoughtfulness and prayed for divine blessings on the Force.
CP Azare stated that the National Police Day is a time not only to celebrate the Nigeria Police Force but also to build stronger community ties through meaningful engagements. He reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to security, public service, and overall community development.
Activities for the National Police Day celebration are expected to continue, focusing on strengthening police-public collaboration and promoting a safer society for all.
