The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 6 Headquarters, Calabar, AIG Auwal Musa Muhammed, psc, anipr, paid an official working visit to the Akwa Ibom State Police Command on Monday, reiterating the Nigeria Police Force’s zero-tolerance stance on corruption and unprofessional conduct.
AIG Muhammed was received at the State Police Headquarters, Ikot Akpan Abia, Uyo, by the Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, mnipr, fsi, along with senior officers and members of the Command’s Management Team.
In his welcome remarks, CP Azare expressed appreciation for the AIG’s ongoing support and guidance. He reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to upholding integrity, professionalism, and a resolute commitment to fighting corruption.
Responding, AIG Muhammed commended the officers for their hospitality and urged them to maintain high standards of discipline and dedication. He warned strongly against any form of extortion, corruption, or unprofessional behavior, stressing that such acts would not be tolerated under his watch.
“The directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, are clear. Officers must not meddle in civil matters, especially land disputes,” AIG Muhammed cautioned, adding that violators would face strict disciplinary measures.
He further called on police personnel to carry out their duties with diligence, respect for human rights, and unwavering professionalism, emphasizing that the force must remain citizen-focused and accountable.
The visit, seen as a morale booster, aligns with the leadership’s broader vision to promote integrity and efficiency within the police force.
