The Isong Annang Ethnic Forum has declared its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The President of the Forum, Prince Mendy Archibong, made the declaration on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, during a press conference at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat in Uyo. Archibong said the Forum, which he noted is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), took the position in recognition of what it described as the leaders’ contributions to governance, development and political representation.
The Forum commended Governor Eno’s administration for its interventions in infrastructure, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, human capital development and social investment, particularly through the ARISE Agenda. Archibong highlighted road construction and rehabilitation, healthcare infrastructure, rural development, youth empowerment and the establishment of Youth Development Centres across the 31 local government areas as key initiatives capable of creating opportunities for young people.

He also praised the administration’s humanitarian interventions, including the Compassionate Homes initiative, as well as major projects such as the Ibom Specialist Hospital.
However, Archibong stressed that development should not be measured merely by the number of projects completed but by their impact on the lives of citizens. He said the true measure of development was whether projects improved transportation, saved lives, enhanced learning opportunities and created productive futures for young people.

On political cooperation, the Forum President described the relationship between Governor Eno and the National Assembly leadership, particularly Senate President Akpabio, as beneficial to Akwa Ibom, stressing that effective collaboration between the state and federal levels could attract greater opportunities for development. He urged political actors and support groups to put the collective interest of the state above personal differences and embrace peaceful, responsible and issue-based political engagement.
Archibong said the Forum, having been profiled by the Directorate of Support Groups in line with the directive of the Akwa Ibom State Government, would mobilise and sensitise its members across Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District and beyond in support of Tinubu, Akpabio and Eno in 2027.
He urged the electorate to assess political leaders based on their records, programmes,
accountability and capacity to deliver, while calling for continued partnership with the media in promoting peace, good governance, development and the collective aspirations of the people.
