The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Nigerian Exporters (ANE), Prince Joseph Idiong, has been selected as one of the high-profile speakers at the 2026 Nigeria Diaspora Economic Conference (NiDEC), organised by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM).
The conference is scheduled to hold in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, from August 12 to 15, 2026, and will bring together policymakers, investors, business leaders and members of the Nigerian diaspora to explore opportunities for economic growth and investment.
In an invitation letter referenced NIDC/TTII/2026/Vol.1/045, NIDCOM Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, invited Prince Idiong to participate as a panelist and partner.
The commission noted that his extensive experience in export development and international trade facilitation would provide valuable insights into strengthening Nigeria’s agricultural export ecosystem, expanding market access, and positioning Nigerian products more competitively in global markets.
Prince Idiong will participate in a panel discussion themed, “From Farm to Global Markets: Unlocking Nigeria’s Agribusiness Value Chains for Diaspora Investments.”
The session will examine critical issues including agro-processing, climate-smart agriculture, export value chains, food security, and agro-industrial investment opportunities, with the aim of attracting diaspora participation in Nigeria’s agricultural transformation.
The Nigeria Diaspora Economic Conference (NiDEC) 2026 is being organised by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission in collaboration with Leadership & Governance Canada Inc. and Agribusiness Forum International.
The event is expected to strengthen partnerships between Nigerians in the diaspora and stakeholders at home, while promoting investment, trade, innovation and sustainable economic development through strategic collaboration.
