LAGOS, Sterling Oil Exploration & Energy Production Company Limited (SEEPCO) has received the Government–Private Partner of the Year Award at the 2026 Nigerian Association of Energy Correspondents (NAEC) Annual Energy Conference and Awards, marking its second consecutive year of recognition by the association.
The award recognises SEEPCO’s strategic collaboration with government institutions to strengthen marine security, enhance the operational capacity of the Nigerian Navy and protect critical oil and gas assets. The recognition highlights the importance of effective public-private partnerships in promoting security, stability and uninterrupted operations in Nigeria’s upstream petroleum sector.
A key component of the company’s security partnership with the Nigerian Navy is the KALI Series Security Support Vessels, designed and built in Delta State, Nigeria. The initiative underscores SEEPCO’s commitment to local content development, indigenous technological capacity and improved protection of vital energy infrastructure.
Speaking through a goodwill message presented at the conference by Dr Jite Orimiono, General Manager, Human Resources and Industrial Relations, SEEPCO commended NAEC for providing a platform for discussions on the future of Nigeria’s energy industry. With the conference themed “Access to Assets: Empowering Players and Driving Growth,” the company emphasised that access to energy assets, stronger partnerships, local capacity development and improved security are essential to attracting investment, expanding indigenous participation and driving sustainable economic growth.
SEEPCO’s latest honour follows its receipt of the Sustainability Company of the Year Award at the 2025 NAEC Awards, recognising its environmental, social and governance initiatives. The company said it remains committed to responsible operations, environmental protection and community development, including its SEEPCO SMILE Campaign, launched in 2025 in partnership with NAEC to extend community-focused interventions to underserved populations.
The latest recognition reinforces the company’s position on collaboration among government, industry operators, host communities and the media in advancing Nigeria’s energy sector.
