The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council, on Sunday held a special thanksgiving service at The Apostolic Church, Ewet Offot Area Headquarters, Uyo, to commemorate the first anniversary of the administration of the Council Chairman, Nsibiet John.
The service brought together journalists drawn from the Council’s 18 chapels, who assembled in an atmosphere of worship, praise and gratitude to thank God for His faithfulness, guidance and abundant blessings throughout the first year of the current leadership. The gathering also offered members an opportunity to reflect on the Council’s achievements and reaffirm their commitment to professionalism, unity and responsible journalism.
Speaking through prayers, songs of thanksgiving and fellowship, participants expressed appreciation to God for sustaining the Council and its leadership over the past year. The occasion underscored the importance of faith, service and collective responsibility in advancing the ideals of the journalism profession in Akwa Ibom State.
The event attracted members of the NUJ family from across the state, while The Evangelist crew was on hand to capture memorable moments from the colourful thanksgiving celebration.
