The Eket Senatorial District Elders Forum has congratulated Chief Assam Assam (SAN) on his appointment as the Political Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the district, describing his emergence as well-deserved and timely.
In a statement issued by its Chairman, the Forum said the new role presents another opportunity for Assam Assam to deploy his vast experience, professional expertise, and deep understanding of the district’s political landscape toward advancing the collective interests of the people.
The elders expressed confidence that his leadership would strengthen the APC in Eket Senatorial District while contributing meaningfully to the overall development of the area.
The Forum, however, clarified that Assam Assam’s position as APC Political Leader does not conflict with its mandate, stressing that it remains a non-partisan and non-political body since its establishment in 2014.
According to the statement, the Forum was founded to pursue the broader interests of the district, including sustained advocacy for the zoning of the Akwa Ibom State governorship to Eket Senatorial District, as well as other developmental concerns.
It added that, in line with its objectives, the Forum has continued to engage stakeholders across party lines, irrespective of political affiliations.
While wishing Assam Assam success in his new role, the elders prayed for divine wisdom, strength, and grace for him to effectively discharge his responsibilities and contribute to the progress of the district and Akwa Ibom State at large.
