Port Harcourt, The Rivers State Government has reaffirmed its reliance on divine guidance, declaring that its confidence in governance is anchored on the assurance that God is sufficient to lead the state toward peace, stability, and sustainable progress.
Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, made the declaration at the 2026 Holy Ghost Rally of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), held on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.
Represented by his Deputy, Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu, the Governor said the administration remains optimistic about the future of the state because of its trust in God’s unfailing support. He noted that with God on the side of Rivers State, prevailing challenges are surmountable and the prospects ahead remain hopeful.
Governor Fubara described the theme of the rally, “The All-Sufficient God,” as timely and reassuring, stressing that in an era marked by uncertainty and pressure, God remains the ultimate source of wisdom, strength, provision, and grace.
He emphasized that when human capacity reaches its limits, divine sufficiency takes over, assuring believers of restoration and renewed hope. The Governor also commended the RCCG for its sustained spiritual influence and consistent prayers for Rivers State and the nation at large, acknowledging the Church’s role in promoting moral values, unity, and faith.
Delivering the sermon, the General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, anchored his message on Genesis 17:1, describing God as all-sufficient and supreme above every other name. He stated that the same God who created all things possesses the power to repair, restore, and renew every situation.
Pastor Adeboye observed that while human effort, including medical intervention, has its limits, there are moments when only divine intervention can reverse circumstances and bring hope where it appears lost.
In his address, the Pastor in charge of the Rivers Family of the RCCG, Pastor Adesoji Oni, noted that the Port Harcourt Holy Ghost Rally, which began in 2015, has grown into a major annual spiritual gathering with a far-reaching impact on the state.
According to him, the rally has drawn thousands of people to God over the years, touching lives both spiritually and physically. He added that the Church has extended its mission beyond preaching to tangible community development through its Christian Social Responsibility initiatives.
These initiatives, he said, include skills acquisition centres, maternity centres across the state, a rehabilitation centre for persons battling substance abuse, and an Innovative Mind Hub designed to nurture creativity and entrepreneurship.
The 2026 Holy Ghost Rally attracted worshippers from across Rivers State and beyond, reinforcing the place of faith as a stabilizing force in governance and community life.
