President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday held an extended emergency security meeting at the State House with the nation’s top security chiefs, including the Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), and heads of other intelligence agencies.
According to the President, the meeting was convened to review the latest security reports from across the country and to take “decisive actions” aimed at stabilising affected areas. He said he has been receiving continuous briefings and has directed all security services to act with “speed, precision, and absolute resolve.”
Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of all Nigerians, warning that those responsible for undermining the nation’s security will face the full force of the law.
“As President, I am fully committed to the security of all Nigerians. Those who threaten the peace and security of our nation will face the full weight of the law,” he said, adding that despite current challenges, “Nigeria will prevail.”
The meeting is expected to produce coordinated security measures aimed at addressing ongoing threats in various parts of the country.
