The Chapel of Methodist Boys’ High School, Oron, was agog with excitement on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, as 500 students received back-to-school packs from the Office of the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Lady Helen Eno Obareki.
The gesture was in fulfilment of a promise Lady Obareki made during her visit to the school in May for the 2025 International Day of the Boy Child, celebrated under the theme “Stand Up, Be Heard and Be Seen.”

Representing the First Lady, the Press Secretary, Mrs. Uduak Ekong, led aides and staff of her office to hand over the school packs to the students. The Principal, Mr. Effiong Ima, formally received the delegation before distribution commenced.

The event also featured an interactive question-and-answer session where participating students were rewarded with prizes for their brilliance.
The initiative reflects Lady Obareki’s commitment to promoting education and the welfare of students in Akwa Ibom State.
