Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has announced that the 38th State Anniversary Thanksgiving Service will hold on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the International Christian Worship Center, Uyo.
Governor Eno made the disclosure during the Government House Monthly Covenant Service at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, stressing that the event was necessary to collectively thank God for His blessings upon the state.
“God has been faithful. Thirty-eight years ago, we were not like this. God has used every leadership He has brought to this State to help us, and we must be grateful, we must be thankful,” the Governor said.
He noted that Akwa Ibom has witnessed steady progress since creation, with numerous projects at various stages of completion, adding that his administration is committed to consolidating the state’s development trajectory.
The Governor further called on citizens to embrace hard work as a solution to socio-economic challenges, stressing that Akwa Ibom is not operating on a communist philosophy where unsustainable grants or palliatives could be relied upon.
Governor Eno, who is also the Undershepherd of All Nations Christian Ministry International, used the occasion to appreciate attendees of the 21st Anniversary and Discovery Convention of his Church. He also commended the homilist, Bishop Uyioata Kingsley of Christ City Church International, for delivering a timely message on the theme: “The Egyptians are men, not God,” drawn from Isaiah 31:3.
The service, which featured praise, worship, prayer sessions, and choir ministrations, was graced by top government officials including the Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi; Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Eno-Obareki; Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong; Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, among others.
