The Delta State Police Command has arrested four officers captured in a viral video counting bundles of cash inside a patrol vehicle, a development that has triggered widespread public outrage.
Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrests in a statement issued on Tuesday, noting that the officers — including two senior personnel were promptly identified and summoned before the Commissioner of Police.
According to Edafe, disciplinary measures have already commenced. The two senior officers have been queried, while the two inspectors involved have been detained and are set to face an orderly room trial.
The Command assured the public of its commitment to professionalism and accountability, stressing that misconduct within the Force will not be condoned.
