Eket, Christians have been urged to remain steadfast, courageous, and faithful to God in the face of trials, opposition, and life’s challenges.
This call was made during the ongoing 21st Anniversary and Discovery Convention of the All Nations Christian Ministry International, holding at the church headquarters in Eket, Akwa Ibom State.
Delivering his message on the second day of the convention, Evangelist Gboyega Shitta, President and Founder of Kingdom Power Ministries International, emphasized that those who pursue righteousness often encounter stiff resistance.
Speaking from 2 Chronicles 32:1–25, he drew lessons from the reign of King Hezekiah of Judah, noting that despite being confronted by Sennacherib, the King of Assyria, Hezekiah triumphed because he stood firm in faith.
“King Hezekiah was a man of integrity and probity who chose the path of righteousness, and though he faced fierce opposition, he prevailed because he trusted God. Men are limited in power, only God has the final say,” Evangelist Shitta said, stressing the convention’s theme: “They are men, not God.”
In her charge, Bishop (Dr) Enobong Essien, Spiritual Mother of the ministry, reminded believers that the manipulations and intimidations of men cannot overpower God’s authority. Citing the biblical story of David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17:26), she encouraged Christians not to be cowed by obstacles, but to trust in God’s limitless power.
Similarly, the Spiritual Father of the Ministry, Rev. Simeon Afolabi, admonished the faithful to embrace victory as a divine identity, noting that “prophetic names manifest at the point of conquest.” He referenced David’s military triumphs (2 Samuel 8:13), which established him as a formidable leader in Israel.
The four-day convention, which continues today (Saturday, August 30, 2025) at 5 p.m., has drawn worshippers from across Akwa Ibom and beyond. Among dignitaries in attendance was the Undershepherd of the church and Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno.
