Holiday Reading Fair 2025 Emphasizes Importance of Polite Manners in Raising Future Leaders

By Solomon OKPO

Children at the 2025 Holiday Reading Fair were taught that polite manners are more than just good behavior—they are a gift of respect to others and a foundation for leadership.

The event, which held under the theme “Polite Manners Matter”, focused on instilling values of courtesy, respect, and discipline in young participants.

Key lessons included the importance of polite conduct in different settings:

In Church, showing reverence for God’s house and consideration for others.

In the Classroom – listening attentively, raising hands before speaking, and obeying teachers.

As a Guest, extending greetings, showing gratitude, and respecting one’s host.

At Parties, practicing sharing, courtesy, and self-control.

Organizers noted that beyond etiquette, politeness shapes character, strengthens relationships, and prepares children to become responsible leaders in society.

The Holiday Reading Fair, supported by #NLNAKSB and #GIFA, reaffirmed its mission to raise well-rounded young people by combining education with moral and social values.
