Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has lauded the smooth working relationship existing between the State House of Assembly and his administration.
The Governor described the leadership of the legislature as remarkably collaborative and supportive in the people-centric development of the State.
These were contained in his remarks today Saturday March 21, 2026 during the wedding ceremony of the son of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Dr. Nsikakabasi Udeme Otong and Miss Theresa Emmanuel Edet, at Qua Iboe Church, Abak road, Uyo.
Governor Eno commended the Speaker for running a House that prioritizes the development and transformation of the State for the good of the people.
He described the Otong as a good man whose quality leadership of the State legislature and partnership with the executive have become great sources of motivation for better service delivery.
The Governor noted that the House of Assembly has made the leadership of the State and implementation of the ARISE Agenda a lot more easier, and therefore, commended them for prioritizing the interest of the State above personal interest.
Governor Eno charged young people to imbibe good morals in order to properly enter the institution of marriage which he described as a honourable thing .
He celebrated Nsikakabasi and Theresa on their wedding, and prayed that God will bless and prosper their marriage.
Governor Eno appreciated the church for its consistent prayers and support for his administration, noting that the administration has continued to enjoy uncommon support from the Christian community.
In his remark, Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong appreciated the Governor and other guests for honouring the celebration and sharing in what he described as God’s goodness to his family.
He particularly appreciated the Governor for the support that made the event possible, disclosing that access to the venue for the traditional marriage was constructed by the current administration.
Preaching on the topic: “Building a successful marriage,” drawn from John 2:2, the Area Chairman, Qua Iboe Church, Uyo Superintendency, Rev. Victor Akpan Ekwo, noted that marriage is not just a relationship, but a deep emotional, spiritual and generational covenant and a throne for fulfillment.
He noted that marriage is not only meant for raising children, but helps in building a decent society by raising responsible children.
Rev Ekwo urged Christians to lean on God, invest time and resources in their marriages, and ensure mutual respect for a successful and blissful marriage.
