The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has recovered stolen items and arrested a suspected receiver linked to a case of vandalism in Ikot Ekpene.
According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, the operation was carried out on July 28, 2025, following credible intelligence and a confession obtained from a previously apprehended suspect.

At about 3:45 p.m., police officers stormed a black spot at No. 56 Aba Road, Ikot Ekpene, where they recovered several items, including electric wires and an iron protector, suspected to have been stolen from an abandoned Chambers of Commerce building on Etokebe Street.

The investigation was further extended to a shop along Aba Road, where one Mr. Elijah Etim Nyah, a resident of Okonna Street, Ikot Ekpene, was arrested as the alleged receiver of the stolen property. Items recovered from his premises included assorted cut-to-size Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution (PHED) electric cables, burnt and peeled copper wires, and cut-to-size aluminum roofing sheets.
The police spokesperson disclosed that investigation into the case is still ongoing to unravel the full extent of the vandalism and bring all perpetrators to justice.
