Nigerians Divided As Musician Mocks Buhari’s Death

By Our correspondent

Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, has stirred heated reactions following his remarks about the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a video making rounds on social media, the Zazuu Zeh crooner reacted to the death of the ex-president with a scathing comment that has left many Nigerians divided.

“The man that said they should shoot our people at the Lekki Toll Gate is dead. Let us do good. May he die again in heaven,” Portable said in the viral clip.

The singer didn’t stop there. He also claimed that Buhari “has died since,” insinuating that the late president’s passing was not recent. His reference was clearly aimed at the controversial 2020 #EndSARS protest, where peaceful protesters were allegedly shot at by military personnel at the Lekki Tollgate in Lagos a tragedy many Nigerians continue to remember with pain and outrage.
