UYO, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has extolled the unity, spiritual commitment, and developmental focus of the people of Akwa Ibom, describing them as the pillars sustaining the state’s peace and progress.
He made the remarks at the conclusion of a three-day interdenominational prayer summit held at the International Christian Worship Centre, Uyo, marking the spiritual commencement of the third year of his administration.
Addressing a large gathering of worshippers, clergy, and dignitaries, Governor Eno expressed profound gratitude to citizens for their collective show of faith and solidarity.
“For coming out in good numbers for us to gather here for three days as a State to pray and hand over to God the commencement of the affairs of our third year in office, I am most grateful,” he said. “This is the spirit of a united Akwa Ibom — one we must preserve to sustain peace and prosperity.”
Emphasizing the correlation between peace and development, Governor Eno noted that unity of purpose among citizens and leaders remains central to actualizing the ARISE Agenda, the blueprint of his administration.
“We have received all the prayers and prophetic declarations, and I believe that, by God’s grace, nations will come to the brightness of Akwa Ibom’s light. But peace attracts progress, and peace can only thrive in unity.”
He urged Akwa Ibomites, regardless of political affiliations, to continue working together for the collective good of the state. “It is not every time one must work in opposition,” the governor stated. “Let us align with the government for our mutual benefit rather than remaining in opposition to our own detriment.”
He further charged residents not to take God’s blessings for granted, but to continue upholding the spiritual and moral fabric that defines the state.
Guest preacher, Apostle (Dr.) Emmanuel Nuhu Kure of Throneroom Trust Ministry, Kafanchan, Kaduna State, delivered the summit’s prophetic message themed “Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn” (Isaiah 60:3), calling on Christians to remain steadfast in righteousness to preserve God’s glory upon Akwa Ibom.
Earlier, Rev. Emmanuel Iniama, General Overseer of Achievers Assembly (Precious Faith International Church), Eket, in his message titled “Understanding the light and brightness that attract nations and kings to us” (Matthew 5:1–16), challenged the people to embrace good character as a prerequisite for meaningful leadership and societal transformation.
He noted that, “Character deficit is worse than budget deficit,” stressing that the true rise or fall of a man or nation, is linked to moral integrity.
The summit featured vibrant sessions of praise, worship, intercession, and musical renditions, drawing participation from the State Executive Council, religious leaders, politicians, and Christian faithful from within and beyond the state.
Governor Eno reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to ensuring a conducive and secure environment for residents, investors, and global visitors.
