Nigeria’s Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has once again demonstrated his commitment to community development by purchasing 50 commercial tricycles (popularly known as Keke) to empower youths in his hometown. This generous act comes as part of his efforts to give back following the successful burial of his late parents.
The donation, which was made possible through funds realized during the funeral ceremonies, is aimed at providing sustainable livelihoods for young people in his community. Nwabali, who hails from Rivers State, emphasized that the initiative was inspired by his desire to honor his parents’ legacy of compassion and generosity.
“I decided to use part of the money given during the burial of my parents to invest in the future of our youth. My parents were known for helping others, and this is my own way of continuing that legacy,” Nwabali said during the official presentation of the tricycles.
The event, which drew the attention of fans, community leaders, and well-wishers, saw 50 beneficiaries receive keys to the brand-new tricycles, which will serve as a means of income in a country where youth unemployment remains a major challenge.
Social media has been abuzz with praise for the Super Eagles shot-stopper, with many Nigerians hailing his selflessness and calling on other athletes and celebrities to emulate his example.
This act of kindness comes after Nwabali’s outstanding performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where he helped lead Nigeria to the final and solidified his place as one of Africa’s top goalkeepers.
