Condolence Message:
The Sports Recorder joins the nation in mourning the “miraculous resurrection” of affection for our beloved Coach Charles Bassey, sadly, posthumous. A man once ghosted by friends while he battled illness has now become the hottest topic at condolence gatherings and WhatsApp statuses.
We extend our deepest condolences to the same folks who couldn’t remember his hospital bed but now remember his legacy with long tributes and freshly ironed Ankara for the funeral. It is indeed heartwarming to see how death cures amnesia.
Coach Bassey, who managed clubs across Nigeria with passion, now enjoys VIP tributes from politicians and ex-friends who might’ve thought “Get Well Soon” was too expensive. May his soul rest in peace, and may the living remember, next time, send help before the obituary.
