Hephzibah Gabriel Okon, a 12-year-old rising star, has captured the attention of sports enthusiasts as the youngest athlete competing in the ongoing NDDC Sports Festival in Uyo.
Representing Akwa Ibom State in the 800m race, Hephzibah’s participation is not only inspiring but also a testament to the state’s commitment to nurturing young talents in athletics.

Despite her young age, Hephzibah has demonstrated remarkable courage and determination, standing shoulder to shoulder with much older and more experienced athletes on the track. Her participation has become a symbol of hope and potential for the future of sports in the region.
The NDDC Sports Festival, which draws participants from across the Niger Delta, continues to provide a platform for discovering and celebrating athletic talent. Hephzibah’s involvement is a reminder that age is no barrier when passion and talent meet opportunity.
