Academy Titans Clash in Historic Federation Cup Semi-Final

Sports Recorder.

The 2025 Akwa Ibom State President Federation Cup semi-final is set for an electrifying showdown as Eagle Eye Academy faces Heavens Race Academy at the Uyo Township Stadium on Thursday, February 20, at 3 p.m.

Both teams have defied expectations in the tournament, making history with their first-ever semi-final appearances. Eagle Eye Academy, a dominant force in the competition, stamped their authority with a stunning 6-0 thrashing of 7th Wonders Academy in the quarter-finals. Their attacking firepower will be their main weapon as they seek revenge against Heavens Race Academy, who edged them 1-0 in the 2024 Obong Isong Isang Memorial Academies Championship.

Heavens Race Academy, however, has proven they can handle pressure. Their dramatic 5-4 penalty shootout victory over Nigeria National League side Dakkada FC, following a 2-2 draw, showcased their resilience. With a history of upsetting stronger opponents, they will look to replicate that feat against Eagle Eye Academy.

Beyond the battle for supremacy, the winner of this encounter will secure a place in the final and a coveted ticket to represent Akwa Ibom State at the national level.

Meanwhile, the second semi-final on Friday, February 21, will see defending champions Akwa United FC take on Godswill Akpabio United FC. The winners from both matches will clash in the final on Sunday, February 23, in a battle for state supremacy.

With history at stake and the promise of high-intensity football, all eyes will be on the Uyo Township Stadium as these academy titans collide.
