Democracy thrives on trust, accountability, and service to the people. Unfortunately, many politicians have mastered the art of deception, making grand promises during campaigns only to abandon the people once they assume office.
These so-called leaders persuade citizens with sweet words, pledges of development, and a supposed commitment to the people’s welfare. Yet, when given the mandate, they disappear into the corridors of power, prioritizing personal gains over the needs of their communities.
Many of these leaders have already spent over 100 days in office, a significant period in governance, yet there is no evidence of progress. No roads have been built, no schools have been improved, no hospitals have been equipped, and no meaningful policies have been implemented to ease the suffering of the people.
The communities that placed their hope in these leaders remain in darkness, literally and figuratively, as basic amenities like electricity, clean water, and healthcare continue to deteriorate.
Elections are meant to usher in progress, but for some communities, they have only brought regret. These wicked politicians exploit the people’s desperation for change, only to betray them once they secure power. Their first 100 days in office have been filled with excuses, blame games, and misplaced priorities.
Instead of laying the foundation for meaningful development, they engage in political distractions, luxury lifestyles, and unnecessary travels while their people remain trapped in poverty and hardship.
The citizens must wake up and hold these deceitful leaders accountable. The era of blind loyalty must end. The people deserve leaders who deliver, not those who make empty promises.
The evidence of democracy should be visible in every community, not in speeches, but in tangible projects that improve lives. If a politician cannot show results within the first 100 days, then the next few years will likely be filled with more disappointments.
It is time to demand better governance and expose those who have turned leadership into a game of deceit.
