Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has issued a stern warning to politicians in the state to desist from contesting the control of the state’s political structure with him.
Governor Eno, who made the remarks while addressing stakeholders, emphasized that as the sitting governor, the political structure of Akwa Ibom naturally rests with him. He noted that attempts by some politicians to undermine or wrestle for that authority are unnecessary distractions that could destabilize the state’s peace and development agenda.
“The political structure of Akwa Ibom State is in my custody as governor. It is not something to be dragged or fought over. Anyone trying to contest that with me is wasting their time,” Eno declared.
The governor further appealed to political leaders and stakeholders to embrace unity, stressing that his administration is focused on delivering good governance, sustaining peace, and promoting inclusive development.
Eno’s remarks come amid speculations of political realignments and tussles among party leaders ahead of future elections.
